About Internash

A media brand for Indians in Australia. Founded in 2018. Hosted by Devarshi Desai.

Eight years of building media for a community that mainstream Australian press has overlooked and legacy Indian-Australian press has spoken to in a voice that doesn't sound like ours.

01. Why this exists

Indians are the largest overseas-born community in Australia today. Nearly a million of us.

But the media built for us hasn't caught up. The mainstream press treats Indian-Australians as a footnote. The legacy Indian-Australian press still speaks in a voice that feels like our parents' generation.

There's a gap. A whole generation of Indians in their twenties, thirties, and forties figuring out careers, identity, money, home. Who don't see themselves anywhere in the media they consume. Internash is for them.

02. The story so far

From Melbourne Vibe to today.

2018
Started as Melbourne Vibe. A YouTube channel for Indian international students figuring out life in a new city. Practical content. Built organically. No paid promotion.
2019
Rebranded to Internash. Widened the focus from Melbourne to the whole country, and from students to the broader Indian-Australian experience.
2020 – 2021
Crossed 100,000 YouTube subscribers and 4 million views. Became the largest YouTube channel for the international student community in Australia. Hosted in-person events. Partnered with Study Melbourne, Austrade, Bupa, and others.
2022 – 2024
Stepped back from regular content. Built Studynash, a migration consultancy, to operating scale across three cities.
2025
Launched The NRI Podcast with fifteen long-form episodes. Stories from Indians who've built lives in Australia. Learned what worked, what didn't, and what the audience actually wanted next.
2026
Internash returns. Sharper voice. Bigger ambition. The voice of Indians in Australia.

Running Internash because nobody else is having these conversations the way they need to be had. The community has grown beyond the media built for it. Internash exists to close that gap.

04. What's next

Content. Community. And eventually, capital.

Today, Internash is a media brand. A YouTube channel. A growing social presence. Tomorrow, it's a community of the most ambitious Indians in Australia. Dinners. Events. Rooms where the conversations the community needs are actually happening. And one day, it's capital. A fund built for and by Indians in Australia, deployed into the founders and businesses building this country's future. We're not there yet. But we're building toward it.
